NARS Velvet Lip Pencil in Bahama Review, Photos & Swatches
NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Bahama is my latest obsession.  Seriously it is EVERYTHING!  I remember hearing Lily Pebbles mention it and then Anna wore it in a recent video and well it was cemented, I simply had to purchase it.  The original, ultimate enablers! No?  I bought it last Tuesday (it was a very Monday-esque Tuesday!) and I've worn it daily since.

I own quite a few of these now, see some more of my collection in my NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil Review.  I don't know whether to be proud or ashamed...  Despite the name, these are not overly matte, with a slightly creamier satin texture, resulting in a velvet finish.  Unlike most matte lip products, they don't emphasise dryness.   No clinging to dry patches, feathering or bleeding.  As the formula is enriched with Vitamin E, they  glide on smoothly and effortlessly.  The shade Bahama is no exception and is very comfortable to wear.  Longevity is impeccable too.  Richly pigmented, you only need one coat.  It saturates the lips in colour with one swipe.  Lip liner is rendered unnecessary thanks to the crayon form, which also means it isn't a faff should you wish* to reapply.  (*Wish, not need.  This withstood drinking coffee and eating a very delicious sticky Cinnamon Swirl!  That I totally only consumed for testing purposes...)
The shade itself is a beautiful dusky rose shade with a hint of brown toned mauve.  I've really been enjoying wearing these more neutral mauve shades.  Bahama has been my go to lipstick shade since I purchased it.

Oh NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Bahama, let me count the ways I love you.  Available from Space NK now.  A beautiful shade and I adore the formula of these, opaque, long lasting and a joy to wear. NARS do lip products perfectly!

Ouai Smooth Shampoo & Conditioner
As regular readers, you all know how much I bemoan my thick hair but I've found The One(s).  I am absolutely hooked on Ouai Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner.  This duo is the reason I never got around to booking that 12 week blow dry I had a consultation for this Summer.

First off, isn't the packaging beautiful?  I know, I know but so aesthetically pleasing!  A chic addition to the hair care shelf!  Yes, it's a thing!  The products smell divine but most importantly they work.  And work well.  This duo has been HG during the humid weather. Acting as a barrier, taming fly aways and fighting frizz.  Both do so without leaving my hair feeling flat and weighed down.  Roots feel clean and light and these soothe and smooth unruly strands.  I leave the conditioner in for a few minutes while I sing (okay, yell) along to BeyoncĂ©.  What I am left with is an enhanced shine, a silky softness and a much more manageable mane!

The perfect anecdote to frizz!  It looks like Jen Atkin herself came to dry my hair.  I hate washing my hair, honestly see posts like this once for proof.  It is such a tenuous task.  Naps and snacks are typically required!  This duo however, makes it less of a chore - LOVE the Ouai Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner. Oh Space NK, I'll just set up a direct debit shall I, you get me every time!

MAC InstaCurl Lash Mascara Review and Swatches
As a blogger/beauty writer integrity is of the utmost importance to me.  So in the interest of maintaining that, full disclaimer as always, the lot in this post was sent to me/a PR sample. But I'm just so bloomin' excited by all of these products I could not wait to share these with you.  Seriously, I just wanted to apply it all at once and try out everything immediately. So I did.  Ahead of my trip to SuperValue to do the food shop...

First up, MAC InstaCurl Lash Mascara in Instablack.  Wow, call me impressed by the level of curl this delivers.  I thought it might be a bit gimmick-y but no, aptly named as it gives Insta' worthy lashes!  Twist the cap and the wand curls.  See it in action here.  Two mascaras for the price of one!  Long, lifted and most importantly curled lashes.   Mascara but not as you know it, one with a twist - literally.

MAC Cream Colour Base in Hush.  Lightweight, blendable and multi purpose - what's not to love. I'm not typically a fan of cream products but I have not experienced any issues with this on my oily prone skin and it doesn't emphasise my pores.  I'm quite pale, MAC NC 15 for reference, so I use this as a (beautiful, dewy) highlight.  Hush is a warm and peach toned shade.

When it comes to eye pencil, I'm loyal to MAC Eye Kohl in Teddy which I wear almost daily so was excited to try the MAC Kajal Liner in Squid.  These are twist up and have a gilde on, semi opaque formula. Squid is described as a carbon black.  For day time, I prefer more warm, neutral shades but this has been my go-to for evening looks.

Two products I may have squealed at the discovery of MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lip Colour in Fashion Legacy.  I was unsure as to how this lip colour would apply but it is dreamy.  Applies smoothly, it is a rich, pigmented orange-y red with a matte finish.  It dries down quickly and is comfortable to wear.   MAC Lip Pencil in Redd is a gorgeous bright red shade.  It wears well and doesn't cling to or highlight dry patches and fades to a nice stain.

You'll know from all of my tweets, blog and insta posts like these that I'm a huge MAC fan and I've been loving all of these products.  In depth, full (rave) reviews are coming!
