Luxury Addict Tag

Louis Vuitton Coin Purse
I'm definitely more COS than couture but when I think of the amount of money I wasted/spent on high street things over the years *shudders*.  I wish I had invested in timeless, classic, investment pieces, the whole buy less but buy better thing so today I thought I'd do the luxury addict tag that I've seen go around!

1. What was your first designer piece?  My very first designer piece was a Miu Miu purse.  I purchased it years ago, on sale!  You can see it on my Insta' here.  Even though the hardware had tarnished and the leather had worn, I still loved it and used up until last year.

2. What do you consider your best investment? Without a doubt my Saint Laurent Shopper Tote.  Cost per wear, this bag was peanuts.  It has practically paid for itself.  I use it daily for work, definitely my best investment purchase.

3. What is your criteria when looking to buy a piece? It has to fit my lifestyle.  I love, love, love the YSL/Saint Laurent blogger bag but I know that it's just too small for me and I wouldn't use it enough to justify buying it.  *It's so pretty though!  Insert ALL of the heart eye emojis*

4. What has been your stupidest/most regrettable purchase? I wouldn't call it a stupid/regrettable purchase but I wish I took more time to think before buying the Alexander Wang Rocco bag.  With the studs covering the base and the fact that I'm an everything plus the kitchen sink kinda girl, it was just too heavy and impractical for me!

5. If you have sold any of your luxury goods, have you ever had sellers regret? I sold the above mentioned Alexander Wang bag before long but thankfully, no sellers regret!

6. What is a piece that you think everyone needs/should have? Okay, so no one needs a designer piece but I think if you're looking to invest, start with SLGs.  I love my Louis Vuitton coin purse and use it daily.  Or perhaps look to buy a card holder!

7. What is a piece that you think is over-hyped? I would have said the Gucci Double G Interlocking Belt as seen on every fashion blogger but then I gave into the hype... I never met a bandwagon, I didn't like ;)

8. What is next on your wish list? A Gucci Soho Leather Disco bag!  Is it true that they are being discontinued?  I hope to purchase early next year but haven't decided whether to go for the beige or black...

A Red Lip Round Up

A review of high end red lipsticks

In the run up to Christmas, I couldn't not feature a post on the timeless, classic that is a red lip.  If you think red lipstick isn't for you, I urge you to try one of these and think again.

Like the perfect pair of black skinny jeans or a camel wool coat of your makeup arsenal. Effortlessly wearable, chic and universally flattering.

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella is the most perfect true red shade.  Neither too cool nor warm toned.  Opaque, long lasting but not drying.  No need for a separate lip liner or to worry about reapplying.

Tom Ford Lip Colour in Wild Ginger is a orange toned red.  Bright, bold and opaque in one swipe.  I love this for day time.  Thick and creamy consistency yet with a long lasting pigment.  Slick this on for an elegant, polished, striking finish.

MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick in Fashion Legacy, as it's a liquid lipstick, it has buildable coverage. Comfortable to wear and the blue based red colour is beautiful.

Special mention to NARS Lip Liner in Rose Bud which is a gorgeous dusky rose red and MAC Lip Pencil in Redd which keep things in place!

I hope this post provided some lipstick inspo ahead of the festive period!

Winter Beauty: Hand Care

Monday, 5 December 2016

This time of year can equal weather worn, dry and chapped hands, dehydrated nail beds and ragged cuticles.  Nail and hand neglect is not part of the festive look I had in mind!  And so, these are my current favourites for Winter hand and nail care.

La Mer The Hand Treatment this hand cream smells divine and the scent lingers long after the velvety, balm like cream has been absorbed.  Which it does without leaving a trace of residue behind. Luxury without compromising on efficacy.  It feels instantly nourishing upon application.  I slather on a generous amount before bed and wake to soothed, soft, hydrated hands.

Richly infused with jojoba oil and vitamin E, the CND Solar Oil Nail and Cuticle Conditioner softens and hydrates dry cuticles and works to strengthen nails.

A manicurist recommended a glass nail file as they can be used to file back and forth.  As there is not friction, they don't damage your nails in the way traditional emery boards do.  The Leighton Denny Crystal Nail File makes it simple to file and give shape to my nails.

For a classic, polished manicure, you cannot beat a nude nail.  See more of my old favourites in this post.  CND Vinylux Weekly Polish in Field Fox is a new love, one I've been a loving for weeks now.  It renders the need for a separate base coat and lives up to its name!  7 days before any signs of tip wear!  With this, I pair the CND Vinylux Weekly Top Coat which gives any manicure an almost glass like glossy sheen.

My go-to products vital for maintaining the condition of hands and nails over the festive period!
