A Love For Lace

Zara Autumn Haul
I've long had a love affair with lace.  To me, it's just so chic, effortless and eternally stylish.  So when I spotted this blouse on the Zara website recently, I knew that I had  to have it.  It was sold out in my size - of course it was. But thankfully it came back in stock and I've seen it in store too.

I don't know how to describe the colour, a muted dusky pink?  I've you've seen my recent Instagram post on the Chanel nail polish in the shade New Dawn - it matches that perfectly!  It has a round neck and long sleeves with almost Victorian-like button detailing at the cuffs.  I wish it had a high neck too but even still, I adore this top.  I've been wearing it non stop.  You know when you buy something new and have to restrain yourself from wearing it too much.  That's me right now.  I think this would work equally well with heels and skinny jeans or dressed down with a blazer or denim jacket and white Converse.

I've swapped cosmetics for clothes in the last few posts.  Normal skincare scheduling will soon continue!  Hands down, this is definitely a new Fall favourite.  (Sorry, but come on, Autumn favourite just doesn't have the same ring to it!)

Monochrome Moment

Monday, 18 September 2017

So if you've read #LLA for awhile or follow me on social media you'll know that I love nothing more than being home! Honesty, watching a couple of episodes of whatever series I'm currently watching, Thai takeout and maybe a glass or two of wine > a night out in a packed, noisy bar every time!  But given that I typically enjoy mellow weekends at home, recently I swapped slouchy sweats for stilettos and headed out for drinks with friends.  Here's what I wore:

All black and white - shocker! Creature of habit?  Who me?  I did add gold accessories, doesn't jewellery count?  Newish purchases because that's what happens when you've to go out out at the last minute and panic that you've nothing to wear!  I needed to give my wardrobe a breath of fresh air.  This tee is from Topshop, paired with my beloved black Frame Le Skinny jeans, a lace blazer from Zara, heels and a cross body bag.  I'm usually an everything including the kitchen sink kinda girl but this was surprisingly roomy - keys, card, phone and a little bit of makeup!  The cross body chain means that it's easy to carry throughout the night and the faux pearl detailing adds a little something to lift the outfit.  The heels are also from Topshop, you know me and Topshop.  A classic shape/style that I'll wear forever.  The lace blazer is such an easy, throw on, goes with everything piece and I hoped would distract from the fact that I went to a bar in essentially jeans and a t-shirt ;)!

My new go-to dressy/casual, I'm in a I can't pull an outfit together panic outfit.  What have you been buying recently?

Autumn Assembly: Topshop Alfie Buckle Boots

Topshop Alfie Buckle Boots outfit
September on wards is perhaps my favourite time of year.  I won't mention Christmas just yet but I love, Autumn/Winter.  I like that it's acceptable to drink hot chocolate for you know, heat retention purposes.  I had my first one of the season the other day, it was glorious!  (If you're in Dublin, you simply must go to Le Petit Parisien!) I enjoy wearing dark nails and lipsticks, gimme all the berry and burgundy shades.  Cosy evenings in (cementing my Grandma status. Could this be why I'm single? Should I you know, leave the house?) with candles burning.  Chunky knits and cashmere socks.  There's definitely a chill in the air and this makes me happy because I can finally break out my new Topshop boots.

These are the Topshop Alfie Buckle Boots.  They seem to have sold out online in black but may still be in stores.  They are 100% leather and flat so comfy AF and the studs and buckles give them a little somethin' somethin' too.  Perfect with my go-to almost uniform of slouchy knit, skinny jeans and boots or I've been enjoying wearing these with long floral dresses and a leather jacket too.  The shape of these boots means that they are a classic style that you can wear forever.  It makes me so happy that I can finally wear these.

It's been a whirlwind of a few months but I'm hopefully getting back on track with all things skincare, beauty, style and everything #LLALoves in between.
