High End Beauty Haul, Diptique, Chanel, Omorovicza

Apologies for the sporadic posts!  I promise the beauty (spam) blog is set to continue now!  It's been a hectic few weeks.  I started a new job and hated it. Which gave me ALL of the anxious feelings.  I'm not one to job hop.  I've always had a career plan.  I graduated and have worked in the one industry for years but an opportunity came up so I took it but it wasn't for me.  I stayed a month (eek!) but thankfully I'm three weeks into a new job and love it phew!

It was also my birthday recently.  I can't believe I'm *whispers* 34.  If someone would please come and sort my life out for me, accepting applications and eh retinol!  I had a great weekend that started with a pankcake and prosecco fueled bruch, an afternoon of doing what I do best (shopping) and eh some piercings (you'll know, if you follow me on Insta') followed by dinner with ALL the red wine and several G&Ts... hic.  When it comes to present my friends and family know what I'm like when it comes to skincare and beauty stuff so typically stick to gift cards etc. but I was truly spoiled and received some lovely gifts that I thought I'd share with you today.

A mini Diptyque Candle in Vanille.  I haven't opened this yet as I've so many candles on the go but I love rich, sweet scents so can't wait to burn this.  I think this will be a lovely warming fragrance once the weather gets cooler.  And when it's run out, I'm totally going to use this for cotton buds...

Omorovicza Perfecting Lip Balm.  This needs no introduction.  Everyone knows me too well. I've at least two of these with me at all times.  HG lip balm for me.

Lastly I received two pieces from the new Chanel cosmetics collection their eye shadow quad in #268 Candeur et Experience and the waterproof long lasting eyeliner in #929 Agape.  An all matte quad, I can't wait to use this!

Something New From Zara

Zara Embroidered Frilled To

Zara is killing it and the moment.  And by it, I mean my bank balance.  Take my money, just take it. Seriously, I may as well just go and set up a direct debit.  I cannot be within a certain radius of the South King Street, Dublin store without buying something.

The latest item added to my carefully curated collection is this Zara Embroidered Frilled Top.  I love the frill at the bottom and the floral detail to the cuffs and front.  I've been wearing this to work with black tapered trousers and tan loafer but also at the weekend with blue skinny jeans and my old reliable converse.

I recently bought these Chanel dupe shoes from Zara and if you follow me on Instagram you'd seen this stripe and tassel shirt.  Loving Zara right now although my purse hates me right now.  I want it ALL.

Have you bought anything from Zara recently?  Not that I need any more encouragement...

Worth it? The Mason Pearson Hairbrush Review

Mason Pearson Hair Brush Review

If you caught my recent haul post you'll see that a mini Mason Pearson Hairbrush was one of the things I bought.  Purchased on a whim but I'm so glad I bought this.  The hype is real, believe the hype!

I needed a new small brush to keep in my handbag and apparently, no I couldn't have just bought another Denman one from Boots...  I never thought I'd have a strong opinion on a hair brush but now I understand why this is a cult classic beauty product, loved by hair stylists and beauty editors alike. They come in different sizes, a range of handle colours and a mix of nylon and/or boar bristles.  The boar bristles gently massage and stimulate the scalp to stimulate and distribute its natural oils.  It detangles effortlessly, gliding through my thick hair without snagging.  My hair can be prone to frizz but this leaves it smooth and free of static.

Yes, an expensive buy for a hair brush but given that I splurge on shampoo et al I thought I was about time I invested in a decent hair brush and pulled the trigger on the Mason Pearson Pocket Hairbrush which will last me a life time.  This and Oribe products are my hair HGs.  If you're in Dublin, Hickey's pharmacy on Grafton Street stock them too.

La Mer The Hand Treatment Review

Please accept my apologies for the protracted delay in publishing any posts!  I know, I know
but I've recently started a new job so things have been a bit hectic chez LLA but I'm back now so blogging (beauty spam) continues! Today's post is on a one of my favourite hand creams La Mer The Hand Treatment.

I've never been particularly faithful to or enamoured of one hand cream until now. It delivers on scent without compromising on hydration.  Delightfully non greasy.  It absorbs easily, leaving my hands smooth and soft.  This rich cream envelops the skin in a comforting blanket of moisture.  One of the most softening creams I've tried, providing an instant injection of moisture.  Also, it is a product you could apply in lieu of perfume.  It's fresh scent lingers throughout the day.  It smells dreamy and while strong it's not overpowering.

Definitely a luxe offering but you'll know from posts like this and this that I'm a huge fan of La Mer. An indulgent offering, this is not the hand cream to slather on generously.  Although if I could afford to, I'd marinate in the stuff!  I'm looking forward to using La Mer The Hand Treatment during the colder months (or you know our Irish Summer) to soothe and relieve even the worst Winter chapped hands.
